Who is the IPC-T651H-Z for?

A 5MP turret with a motorised 2.8–12mm lens — HiLook's most flexible camera for eaves and soffits. You fix it in the discreet turret body, then set zoom and focus from the recorder or app to frame exactly the drive, gate or yard you want, and re-frame later if the layout changes. At 12mm it reaches roughly four times further than a fixed 2.8mm lens, so a plate at the end of a 20m drive becomes readable. Night vision is 30m infrared. For a wall or pole position where you want a visible camera, the IPC-B650H-Z bullet; where the camera is within reach, the IPC-D650H-Z dome.

What you'll need with it

• A PoE NVR that records 5MP or above — the NVR-104H-D/4P or NVR-108H-D/8P; zoom/focus controls appear in the NVR's PTZ menu and in the app.

Is it a PTZ?

No — remote zoom and focus only. Once aimed, it doesn't pan or tilt.

When is varifocal worth the extra over a fixed lens?

When the subject is more than about 15m away, when you can't be sure of the framing before installation, or when the view may need to change later.

Is the night vision in colour?

No, infrared. For colour at night choose a fixed-lens ColorVu model.
