What's in the networking range?

• Network switches: from 5-port desktop switches to 48-port managed switches, including PoE models for IP cameras, access points and phones. See network switches.
• Wi-Fi: ceiling and wall access points, wireless routers and point-to-point wireless bridges. See wireless access points.
• PoE add-ons: PoE injectors, extenders and converters for when a switch port can't power a device or a run is too long.
• Structured cabling: Excel Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A cable, patch leads, patch panels, keystone jacks and faceplates. See bulk network cable.
• Racks and cabinets: wall-mounted, floor-standing and open-frame racks, with shelves, blanking panels and cable management.

A few terms explained

• PoE (Power over Ethernet): one network cable carries both data and power, so a camera or access point doesn't need a separate power supply. Check the switch's total PoE budget covers every device you plan to connect.
• Unmanaged, smart and managed switches: an unmanaged switch works straight out of the box. Smart and managed switches let you set up VLANs (separate virtual networks), monitor ports and control traffic.
• Cloud-managed: TP-Link Omada, Ruijie Reyee, Uniview and Dahua switches can be set up and monitored from an app or web portal, not just on site.

Common questions

Do you deliver networking equipment across the UK?

Yes, to England, Scotland and Wales. Orders placed before 2:30pm are normally dispatched for delivery within 1–2 working days. We don't ship to Northern Ireland.

Which switch do I need for IP cameras?

A PoE switch with enough ports for your cameras plus an uplink, and a PoE budget higher than the cameras' combined power draw. The camera's datasheet gives its power draw in watts.

Do you sell Cat6 cable by the box?

Yes. Excel Cat6 is available in 305m boxes and reels, including external-grade cable for outdoor runs.
