A professional wireless alarm, with no walls to chase.

AX PRO is Hikvision's professional wireless intruder alarm range. It's grade-2 capable and fits without chasing walls or lifting floors, yet reports to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) like a hardwired panel. Most jobs start with a kit: panel, detectors, sounder and a way to arm it, in one box.

Is AX PRO right for me?

How is AX PRO different from a consumer alarm?

It's not the app. It's what sits behind it:

  • 868 MHz radio: the band reserved for alarm use in the UK, far less crowded than the 433 MHz used by DIY systems. Frequency hopping and AES-128 encryption mean signals can't be replayed or jammed casually.
  • 64 zones and 16 areas on the DS-PWA64 panel. One system can arm a house, a garage and an outbuilding separately.
  • Three signalling paths: wired ethernet, Wi-Fi and GPRS over a SIM. Cutting the broadband doesn't take the alarm offline.
  • ARC ready: SIA DC09 (SIA Level 2 and Contact ID), ISUP and ISAPI, with Hik-IP Receiver support and video verification. A monitoring operator can see what triggered an alarm before sending anyone.
  • 5,000-event log and 30 individual users, so the record shows who armed or disarmed and when.

Which kit should I start with?

The panel supports up to 8 keypads, 4 sounders, 32 key fobs, 32 tags, 2 repeaters and 48 PIRCAMs.

  • Kit 1 includes two key fobs.
  • Kit 2 includes a keypad with tag reader.
  • Everything else in the two boxes is identical. Choose by how people will arm the system, not by price.

What is a PIRCAM?

A PIRCAM is a PIR detector with a built-in camera. Up to 48 of the 64 zones can be PIRCAMs. When one triggers, the alarm arrives with a picture of what caused it. That turns a possible false alarm into a decision, and it's the feature that sets AX PRO apart from a cheaper wireless system.

More AX PRO questions

Is there a 96-zone AX PRO panel?

Yes. The DS-PWA96-M-WE has 96 zones, 32 areas, 46 users, 3G/4G with dual SIM and a tag reader in the panel. The 96-zone kits use it. See AX PRO control panels compared.

Can AX PRO work with existing wired detectors?

Yes. The DS-PWA96-M2H-WE hybrid panel has 16 onboard wired zones. The DS-PM1-I16O2-WE expander brings 16 wired inputs onto a wireless panel.

Do the starter kits include a sounder?

No. The DS-PWA64-Kit-WE and DS-PWA96-Kit-WE have no sounder. Most installations need one, so add a DS-PS1-E-WE external sounder.

How far can AX PRO devices be from the panel?

It depends on the device and the building. Camera detectors have an 800 m free-space range. The DS-PR1-WE(B) repeater has a 2,000 m open-area range for large buildings and outbuildings.

Does AX PRO cover smoke, heat, CO and water leaks?

Yes. There are wireless smoke, heat and carbon monoxide detectors with an 85 dB local sounder, and an IP66 water leak detector.

Where should the AX PRO panel go?

Indoors in a heated space. The 64-zone panel's battery will not charge below 10°C, so keep the adapter connected.
