The Hikvision DS-PR1-WE(B) is the AX PRO wireless repeater — it extends the panel's range so detectors at the far end of a large building, an outbuilding, or a site with thick walls stay reliably in contact.
When you need it
Every AX PRO device has a stated range, but real buildings aren't open ground — thick masonry, metal cladding, multiple floors and outbuildings all eat into it. Rather than accept a weak signal or relocate the panel, one repeater positioned between the panel and the furthest devices restores a strong connection without any cabling back to the panel itself.
Genuine reach: 2 km open area
The repeater's own free-space range is 2,000 m — further than any AX PRO detector — so it can sit well beyond the panel's normal reach and still relay reliably back.
Auto-pairing
Pairs with the panel automatically, without a manual enrolment sequence for every linked device — it simply extends whatever network is already configured.
Mains powered, with real battery backup
Runs from 100–240 V AC with a built-in lithium battery giving up to 24 hours of backup at normal temperature if mains power is lost — genuinely useful given a repeater is often the single link keeping remote detectors online. Hikvision notes battery life is reduced at low temperatures, and the unit needs the mains adapter connected to operate down to its full −10°C rating.

Worth knowing before you order
Position matters. Site it roughly midway between the panel and the devices struggling for signal — a repeater at the wrong end of the problem won't help.
It needs mains power. The built-in battery is backup only, not the primary supply; the unit needs the adapter connected, particularly at low temperatures.
It needs an AX PRO panel. Part of the AX PRO system only.
Frequently asked questions
When do I need a repeater?
Where a detector's signal is weak — a large building, thick walls, an outbuilding, multiple floors — check signal strength on the affected device before assuming a repeater is the fix.
Where should it be positioned?
Roughly midway between the panel and the devices that need help, with a clear line where possible.
Does it need mains power?
Yes — the built-in battery is backup for a power cut, not a standalone power source.
Does it work with other alarm panels?
No. It is for Hikvision AX PRO panels only.
