Hikvision AX PRO is a professional wireless intruder alarm range. This guide walks through every part of the Hikvision AX PRO alarm system that we stock: control panels, kits, keypads, detectors, sirens, fobs, life-safety sensors, the repeater and the modules. What is Hikvision AX PRO?

AX PRO is a Hikvision wireless alarm system built around a control panel and battery-powered devices. Detectors, keypads and sounders talk to the panel by two-way radio at 868 MHz, with frequency hopping and AES-128 encryption. Most standard devices use Hikvision's Tri-X radio. Camera detectors use CAM-X, which is designed to carry image data.

The panel reports out over more than one path. Every panel has wired ethernet and Wi-Fi. The 64-zone panel adds GPRS with one SIM slot. The 96-zone panels add 3G/4G with two SIM slots. All three panels can report to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) over SIA DC09 (SIA Level 2 and Contact ID), ISUP and ISAPI, with video verification.

AX PRO control panels

DS-PWA64-L-WE: 64 zones, 16 areas, 30 users, 32 tags and 32 key fobs. It takes up to 8 keypads, 4 sounders and 2 repeaters. It has a built-in lithium battery giving up to 12 hours. A black version, DS-PWA64-L-WE/Black, has identical hardware.
DS-PWA96-M-WE: 96 zones, 32 areas, 46 users, 48 tags and 48 key fobs. It takes 8 keypads, 6 sounders and 4 repeaters. It has 3G/4G with dual SIM, a tag reader built into the panel and 4 onboard video clips.
DS-PWA96-M2H-WE: the AX PRO hybrid panel, sold as AX PRO Ultra. It has 96 zones in total, including 16 onboard wired zones and 2 wired outputs. It takes a 12V 7Ah battery (not supplied) for up to 36 hours of standby. It has no built-in tag reader.

Every panel takes up to 48 PIRCAMs. That limit is the same on the 64-zone and 96-zone panels.

Hikvision AX PRO kits

A kit is the quickest way to start. Every Hikvision AX PRO kit includes a panel, a PIR detector and a door contact. The difference is the panel, the number of devices and how users arm the system.

The kits use the DS-PDP15P-EG2-WE pet-immune PIR, the DS-PDMC-EG2-WE door contact, the DS-PS1-E-WE external sounder, the DS-PKF1-WE key fob and the DS-PK1-E-WE keypad. The two starter kits have no sounder. Most installations need one, so add a DS-PS1-E-WE. If none of the kits fits the building, build an AX PRO kit device by device.

Keypads, tag readers and fobs

DS-PK1-E-WE: wireless LED keypad with tag reader, used in the Kit2 kits.
DS-PK1-LT-WE: LCD touch keypad with a built-in tag reader. Up to 2 years on four CR123 batteries and 1,200 m radio range. Also in black.
DS-PT1-WE(B): standalone tag reader. It arms, stay-arms or disarms by area, with up to 2 years on four AA batteries.
DS-PT-M1: MIFARE proximity tag, read at 5 to 10 cm.
DS-PKF1-WE: key fob for stay and away arming and disarming.

Indoor detectors

DS-PDP15P-EG2-WE(B): pet-immune PIR. 15 m range across 90°, 84 detection zones, pet immune to 30 kg, up to 5 years on one CR123A. Also in black.
DS-PDD12P-EG2-WE: dual-technology PIR and 24 GHz microwave. Both must trigger, which cuts false alarms in difficult rooms. 12 m range, pet immune to 30 kg.
DS-PDC15-EG2-WE(B): curtain PIR with a narrow 6.3° beam and 15 m range, for windows, doors and corridors.
DS-PDCL12-EG2-WE: 360° ceiling PIR with 12 m diameter coverage, for ceilings of 2.4 m to 4 m.
DS-PDBG8-EG2-WE: acoustic glass-break sensor with 8 m range across 120°.
DS-PDPG12P-EG2-WE: PIR and glass-break in one detector. Its product data lists EN 50131 Grade 2 certification.

Wall and ceiling brackets are available for the indoor detectors: wall bracket and ceiling bracket.

Outdoor detectors

DS-PDTT15AM-LM-WE: two PIRs plus 24 GHz microwave, and all three must agree. 15 m range, pet immune to 40 kg, anti-masking, IP65.
DS-PDC10DM-EG2-WE: outdoor dual-tech curtain detector with a 5° beam, anti-masking and IP65.
DS-PDC10AM-EG2-WE: outdoor curtain PIR with a 5° beam, for gates and paths.

PIRCAM and video verification

A PIRCAM is a PIR detector with a camera built in. When it triggers, the alarm arrives with JPEG images of what caused it. An ARC operator, or the user, can see whether it was a person or a false alarm.

DS-PDPC12PF-EG2-WE(B): indoor PIRCAM with a white light fill to 12 m for colour images at night. Pet immune to 30 kg, up to 6 years on three CR123A batteries.
DS-PDPC18-HM-WE: outdoor PIRCAM. 18 m range, IP65, infrared fill to 12 m, up to 3 years on four CR123A batteries.
DS-PDCM15PF-IR: IP66 camera module. It has no PIR of its own and needs a compatible host device.

Door and window contacts

DS-PDMC-EG2-WE(B): door contact with a 43 mm gap tolerance and a wired alarm input. Up to 5 years on one CR123A.
DS-PDMCS-EG2-WE(B): slim contact, 43 mm gap, up to 5 years on one CR2450. Also in black.
DS-PDMCK-EG2-WE(B): contact plus shock and tilt sensor, to catch forcing as well as opening.
DS-PDMCX-E-WE: outdoor contact for gates and outbuildings. IP66 with a 76 mm gap.

Sirens and sounders

DS-PS1-E-WE: external sounder, 110 dB with strobe. Three tones for fire, panic and intrusion. IP65, up to 3 years on battery or run from 12V DC. Also in red.
DS-PS1-I-WE(B): compact internal sounder with up to 3 years standby, in blue or red.

Panic and emergency buttons

DS-PDEBP1-EG2-WE and DS-PDEBP2-EG2-WE: portable panic buttons, single or dual key, for a keyring or lanyard. IP66, up to 3 years on one CR2035.
DS-PDEB1-EG2-WE and DS-PDEB2-EG2-WE: wall-mounted emergency buttons, one or two buttons. IP66, up to 3 years on one CR2450.

Smoke, heat and carbon monoxide

The DS-PDSMK-E-WE smoke detector, DS-PDHT-E-WE heat detector and DS-PDCO-E-WE carbon monoxide detector each have an 85 dB local sounder at 3 m. Each has a 10-year sealed sensor cell and a separate 5-year replaceable radio battery. Linked AX PRO fire and CO detectors sound together.

Water leak and temperature

The DS-PDWL-E-WE water leak detector works on the floor or with its included probe. It is IP66 and runs up to 3 years on one CR2450. The DS-PDTPH-E-WE temperature sensor has a 2.7 inch display and an optional probe, for a freezer, boiler room or greenhouse.

AX PRO repeater, modules and accessories

DS-PR1-WE(B): the AX PRO repeater. 2,000 m open-area range, mains powered with up to 24 hours battery backup. The 64-zone panel takes 2 and the 96-zone panels take 4.
DS-PM1-I16O2-WE: 16-input, 2-output wireless expander to bring a wired system onto AX PRO.
DS-PM1-I1-WE: single-input transmitter that fits inside a wired detector's housing.
DS-PM1-O1H-WE: mains relay module, up to 13A. DS-PM1-O1L-WE: low-voltage relay module, 0 to 36V DC up to 5A.
DS-PM1-D: DC-DC power converter for AX PRO accessories.
DS-PT061: external antenna for the AX PRO Ultra panel, with a 3 m cable.

How to choose an AX PRO system

Size the panel. Count the zones and areas. A house or small shop usually fits the 64-zone panel. Multiple tenancies or many separately armed areas point to a 96-zone panel.
Check for existing wiring. If the building has a wired alarm worth keeping, look at the DS-PWA96-M2H-WE hybrid panel or the DS-PM1-I16O2-WE expander.
Decide how people arm it. Fobs suit a household. A keypad or tag reader suits staff, and each user gets their own code or tag in the log.
Decide on verification. If the system will be monitored, plan PIRCAMs for the key areas.
Plan sounders and life safety. Add an external sounder, and smoke, heat, CO or water leak detectors where needed.
Check signal. Large sites or outbuildings may need a repeater.

Can I mix AX PRO with Ajax devices?
