Video verification means an alarm arrives with pictures of what caused it. On a Hikvision AX PRO system, that job is done by PIRCAM detectors and a camera module. This page explains the three devices we stock and how they fit a monitored system.
What a PIRCAM does
A plain detector tells you that a zone triggered. A PIRCAM is a PIR detector with a camera built in. When it triggers, it captures JPEG images and sends them with the alarm. A user, or an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) operator, can see whether it was a person, a pet or a curtain before acting.
AX PRO panels report to an ARC with video verification over SIA DC09, ISUP and ISAPI. Every AX PRO panel takes up to 48 PIRCAMs, whether it has 64 or 96 zones.
CAM-X radio
Camera devices use Hikvision's CAM-X wireless, at 868 MHz with AES-128 encryption. It is designed to carry image data. Free-space range is 800 m, which is shorter than a plain detector, so check signal strength on larger sites. The DS-PR1-WE(B) repeater can help where a device is far from the panel.
DS-PDPC12PF-EG2-WE(B): indoor PIRCAM
The DS-PDPC12PF-EG2-WE(B) is the indoor PIRCAM.
- Detection: 12 m across 90°, 52 zones, pet immune to 30 kg
- Camera: 88.4° × 68° view, JPEG at 160×120, 320×240 or 640×480
- Night images: white light fill to 12 m, so images stay in colour
- Battery: three CR123A, up to 6 years standby
- Mounting: wall, 1.8 m to 2.4 m; indoor, -10°C to +55°C
A camera inside a home or workplace carries privacy duties that a plain detector does not. Take care siting one in a bedroom or bathroom.
DS-PDPC18-HM-WE: outdoor PIRCAM
The DS-PDPC18-HM-WE is the outdoor PIRCAM, for gardens, yards and driveways.
- Detection: 18 m across 90°, 118 zones, pet immune to 24 kg
- Camera: 113° × 60° view, JPEG up to 640 × 480
- Night images: infrared fill to 12 m, with automatic colour and black-and-white switching
- White light filter: 20,000 lux

DS-PDCM15PF-IR: camera module
The DS-PDCM15PF-IR is a camera module. It has no PIR and no radio of its own, and it needs a compatible host device. Call us to confirm compatibility before ordering.
