We supply two professional wireless alarm systems: Hikvision AX PRO and Ajax. Both use encrypted two-way radio, both report beyond the broadband, and both offer detectors with cameras. How each system is built
Hikvision AX PRO is built around a control panel. Devices link at 868 MHz with frequency hopping and AES-128 encryption. Standard devices use Tri-X radio and camera detectors use CAM-X. There are three panels: 64-zone, 96-zone and a 96-zone hybrid. See Hikvision AX PRO wireless alarms.
Ajax is built around a hub. Devices link over Jeweller, Ajax's own two-way encrypted radio, and the system is set up in the Ajax apps. The Baseline range covers homes and small businesses. The Superior range adds Grade 3 devices and Fibra wired options. See Ajax wireless alarms.

Panels and hubs
The AX PRO DS-PWA64-L-WE and DS-PWA96-M-WE are counted in zones and areas. The DS-PWA96-M2H-WE adds 16 wired zones. Full details are in AX PRO Control Panels Compared.
Ajax hubs are counted in devices, users and security groups. The Hub (4G) Jeweller takes up to 100 devices and 50 users. The Hub 2 Plus Jeweller takes up to 200 devices and 200 users, with Wi-Fi, Ethernet and two 4G SIM slots. The Superior Hub Hybrid 2 takes up to 250 Fibra and Jeweller devices.
Detectors with cameras
Both systems send pictures with an alarm. AX PRO uses PIRCAMs such as the DS-PDPC12PF-EG2-WE(B), which uses a white light fill for colour images at night. Ajax uses MotionCam detectors such as the MotionCam Jeweller, which takes 1 to 5 photos per alarm with infrared illumination. See AX PRO Video Verification for the AX PRO side.
Grading
If an insurer or monitoring company asks for a grade, check each device. On our Ajax product data, the Baseline Jeweller devices are Grade 2 and the Superior G3 devices are Grade 3. On our AX PRO product data, EN 50131 Grade 2 is listed for the DS-PDPG12P-EG2-WE and the DS-PK670MDW-HWE keypad. Agree the system design with the insurer or monitoring company before ordering.
Which to choose
- Choose AX PRO when you want a Hikvision system with zone-based panels, a hybrid wired option on the M2H panel, or ARC video verification through Hik-IP Receiver.
- Choose Ajax when you want the hub-and-app approach, Grade 3 Superior devices, or Fibra wired lines.
- You cannot mix the two. Wireless detectors only pair with their own maker's panel.
