Cameras that read number plates for you.
ANPR (automatic number plate recognition, also called LPR) cameras read vehicle plates from the video. The camera is one part of an ANPR system: a controller or software then acts on the plate it reads. Most cameras here are IP models from Hikvision, Dahua and Uniview.
Which ANPR camera do I need?
Start with where the camera will be mounted. Plate capture depends on the lens, mounting position, lane layout, lighting and vehicle speed. Plate recognition support depends on the model and region, so check each product page. Need UK plates read? Contact us before you order.
- Hikvision: the iDS-TCM403 4MP models with 8-32mm or 2.8-12mm motorised lenses, plus DeepinView bullet and dome cameras in 2MP and 4MP. Several have a Wiegand output (a common connection to access control).
- Dahua: the DHI-ITC952-RU2D-IRL8 and ITC952-RU2D-IRL8, 9MP AI traffic enforcement cameras with ANPR and E-police modes, including overspeed and red light snapshots.
- Uniview: the IPS-HC268-HDX4-IR-I1, an 8MP bullet with a 4X optical zoom lens, and the 2MP HC121@TCR-08S-Z.
Power: most models run on PoE (one network cable for power and picture). The Dahua ITC952 runs from 100V to 240V AC.
