The Hikvision DS-PWA64-L-WE is the control panel at the centre of every AX PRO system — 64 zones, 16 independently armed areas, and three separate paths to the outside world.
Buy the panel on its own, or as a kit
This is the same panel supplied in Kit 1 and Kit 2. Buy it separately when you are designing a system from scratch, replacing a failed panel, or when the kit's detector mix does not suit the building.
Sixteen areas is the specification that matters
Most wireless panels arm the whole building or nothing. This one supports 16 areas across its 64 zones, so a single system can arm a house while the garage stays off, or secure a shop's stockroom during trading hours.
With 30 individual users, 32 tags, 32 key fobs and a 5,000-event log, the record shows who armed or disarmed which area and when — which is why this is specified on commercial sites, not just houses.

Three signalling paths
Wired ethernet, Wi-Fi and GPRS with a single SIM slot. Cutting the broadband does not take the alarm offline — it falls back. There is also an RS-232 output for integration.
Radio to the devices runs at 868 MHz with frequency hopping and AES-128 encryption. The 868 band is reserved for alarm use in the UK, so it is far less congested than the 433 MHz used by consumer systems.
Monitoring and remote management
Reports to an Alarm Receiving Centre over SIA DC09 (SIA Level 2 and Contact ID), ISUP and ISAPI, with Hik-IP Receiver and Hik-IP Receiver Pro (Sur-Gard and Ademco 685 emulation), including video verification and remote control.
Programming through Hik-Connect, Hik-ProConnect, the web portal, iVMS-4200 or Convergence Cloud, with a separate installer app, offline web configuration, app-based diagnostics and firmware upgrades over the air.
PIRCAMs: an alarm with a photograph
Up to 48 of the 64 zones can be PIRCAMs — PIR detectors with a built-in camera, so an alarm arrives with an image of what caused it. For a monitored system that is the difference between a dispatched patrol and a verified intrusion.

Worth knowing before you order
The battery will not charge below 10°C. Hikvision are explicit about this — site the panel in a heated space and keep the adapter connected. A panel in an unheated hallway or porch may not hold charge through winter.
12 hours of backup is a backup, not a power source, and it drops considerably in the cold.

ARC monitoring is a separate service. The panel supports it; the contract is with a monitoring provider.
Buying a kit is usually cheaper than the panel plus devices separately — compare against Kit 1 and Kit 2 before ordering components individually.

How many detectors will it take?

What does 16 areas mean in practice?
Parts of the building can be armed independently — house armed, garage disarmed; shop floor open, stockroom secured.
What happens if the broadband is cut?
It falls back to Wi-Fi or GPRS over the SIM. Three paths are on board.
Can it be professionally monitored?
Yes — SIA DC09, Contact ID, ISUP and ISAPI with video verification. Monitoring is contracted separately.
Why will the battery not charge in the cold?
Lithium cells cannot safely charge below 10°C, so the panel will not attempt it. Keep it in a heated space with the adapter connected.
Do I need a SIM card?
Only if you want GPRS as a fallback path. Ethernet and Wi-Fi work without one.
