Hikvision DS-PS1-E-WE/RED AX PRO Wireless Alarm Siren with Strobe, Red

The Hikvision DS-PS1-E-WE/RED is the red version of the AX PRO external sounder — 110 dB, a strobe indicator, and a battery that lasts three years. Same hardware as the blue DS-PS1-E-WE; the only difference is the colour of the front cover.

Why red

Red is the traditional colour of a British bell box, and on some properties that is exactly the point — a red box on the wall reads as "alarmed" at a glance from the street in a way a blue one may not. It also matches an existing red sounder if you are replacing an older system and want the outside of the building to look the same.

The part of the system the street sees

An alarm nobody can hear is a poor deterrent, and most insurers expect an audible external device. At 110 dB it carries across a yard or wakes a neighbour, and the strobe keeps signalling after the sounder cuts off, so a returning keyholder or a patrol can see which property triggered.

Worth knowing before you order

The kits ship with the blue sounder. If you want red on the wall, order this alongside a starter kit (which has no sounder) rather than a full kit, or accept a spare blue one.

Panels take a limited number of sounders — four on the 64-zone panel (two internal, two external), six on the 96-zone panels.

It needs an AX PRO panel — not standalone, and not compatible with other manufacturers.

IP65, not IP66 or IP67. Fine on a wall under normal weather; do not site it where it will be hosed or submerged.
