The Hikvision DS-PS1-E-WE is the external sounder for the AX PRO range — 110 dB, a strobe indicator, and a battery that lasts three years.
The part of the system the street sees
An alarm nobody can hear is a poor deterrent, and most insurers expect an audible external device. This is the box on the wall that does that job — and the one an intruder notices before anything else.
At 110 dB it is loud enough to carry across a yard or wake a neighbour, and the strobe keeps signalling after the sounder cuts off, so a returning keyholder or a patrol can see which property triggered.
Three distinct alarm tones
It does not just make one noise. The sounder distinguishes:
- Fire alarm
- Panic alarm
- Intrusion alarm
On a site with smoke detectors and panic buttons alongside the intruder devices, that tells anyone in earshot what kind of event it is — which changes how they should respond.
Three years on a battery
Rated at up to three years standby — measured by Hikvision on the basis of being triggered every two weeks and sounding for 90 seconds each time. That is a realistic duty cycle rather than an idealised one.
It can also be run from 12V DC if you have power at the mounting position and would rather not manage batteries at height.
Built for the outside wall
- IP65 — protected against dust and water jets from any direction
- −20°C to +60°C, 10–90% humidity
- Front and rear tamper — prising it off the wall raises an alarm as readily as opening it
- PC + ABS housing, 190 × 200 × 47.3 mm, 606.5 g
Radio built for alarms
868 MHz two-way with AES-128 encryption and frequency hopping against jamming, with a free-space range of 1.6 km. Two-way means the panel confirms the sounder is reachable rather than assuming — worth having on the one device an intruder is most likely to attack.
Enrolment uses the same multiple methods as the rest of the range, and it is fully configurable from the app.

Worth knowing before you order
This is the blue version — the one the kits ship with. A red version, DS-PS1-E-WE/RED, is listed separately for anyone who wants a traditional red bell box on the wall.
Panels take a limited number of sounders — four on the 64-zone panel (two internal, two external), six on the 96-zone panels.
It needs an AX PRO panel — not standalone, and not compatible with other manufacturers.
IP65, not IP66 or IP67. Fine on a wall under normal weather; do not site it where it will be hosed or submerged.
One is included in Kit 1, Kit 2 and both 96-zone kits — but not in the starter kits, which have no sounder at all.
Frequently asked questions
How loud is 110 dB?
Loud enough to carry across a yard and be heard inside neighbouring properties — comparable to a chainsaw at close range.
How long does the battery last?
Up to three years, based on being triggered every two weeks and sounding for 90 seconds each time. It can also run on 12V DC.
Can it go outside?
Yes — IP65 and rated −20°C to +60°C, designed for wall mounting outdoors.
What happens if someone rips it off the wall?
Front and rear tamper detection both trigger an alarm, and the two-way radio means the panel knows if it stops responding.
Does it come in red?
Yes — the DS-PS1-E-WE/RED is the same sounder with a red cover, listed separately.
