The Hikvision DS-PDC10AM-EG2-WE is the AX PRO outdoor curtain PIR — a narrow, directional beam built to guard a specific line an intruder has to cross: a gate, a gap in a fence, a pathway between buildings.

A beam, not a zone

Where the outdoor triple-signal detector covers an open area, this one covers a single 5° directional beam — up to 10 m wall-mounted or 5 m ceiling-mounted. That precision is the point: aimed across a gateway or a gap between buildings, it alarms on anyone crossing that exact line without needing to cover the whole garden.

Pet immunity, but only wall-mounted

Mounted on a wall, it ignores animals up to 12 kg. Ceiling-mounted, looking straight down, there is no pet immunity — the same trade-off as the indoor ceiling PIR, for the same reason.

Anti-masking

Reports if someone covers or sprays the lens before attempting a break-in — the outdoor detector's equivalent of tamper protection for the optics themselves, shown on a distinct green+orange LED pattern.

Built for the weather

IP65, rated −25°C to +60°C, with an included L-shaped bracket for angling the beam correctly on a wall or corner.

Five years on batteries

Two CR123A cells give up to five years standby, though Hikvision notes battery life is reduced in sustained low temperatures — worth planning for on an exposed north-facing position.

Radio built for alarms
