How the VIGI CCTV kit builder works
Count your cameras. One camera per area you want to cover: front, back, driveway, yard or shop floor.
Choose your VIGI cameras. Mix bullet, turret and dome, 4MP, 5MP or 8MP, full-colour night vision or IR, fixed, varifocal or 180° panoramic.
Get a matched NVR. The builder picks a VIGI NVR with enough channels, and shows how many cameras it can power over PoE.
Add power, storage and cables. A TP-Link PoE switch if the NVR can't power them all, a hard drive sized to the days you want to keep, a 20 m cable per camera and short patch leads.

Which VIGI cameras should I choose?
Turret (S4 models): quick to aim on a wall or soffit, with no glass over the lens to catch reflections.
Bullet (S3 models): a visible deterrent for driveways, gates and car parks.
Dome (S2 models): vandal-resistant domes for porches, shops and ceilings.
Full-colour and ColorPro: colour pictures at night. ZI models add a motorised varifocal lens, and PI models give an 8MP 180° panoramic view.

Is VIGI made by TP-Link?
Yes. VIGI is TP-Link's business surveillance range of IP cameras and NVRs. We are listed on TP-Link's UK where-to-buy page as an official TP-Link VAR Partner.
Which VIGI NVR do I need?
Count your cameras and leave a few spare channels. The NVR1004H-4P, NVR1008H-8MP, NVR2008H-8MP and NVR2016H-16MP power the cameras over their own PoE+ ports. The NVR1008H, NVR1016H, NVR2016H, NVR4032H and NVR4064H have no PoE ports, so the builder adds a TP-Link PoE switch.
Do I need a PoE switch for VIGI cameras?
Not if your NVR has a PoE port for every camera. Otherwise the builder adds a TP-Link PoE switch and a patch lead to link it to the NVR.
Can I watch VIGI cameras on my phone?
Yes. VIGI cameras and NVRs are set up and viewed in the free VIGI app, and on a computer with VIGI Security Manager.
What do VIGI camera model numbers mean?
S2 models are domes, S3 models are bullets and S4 models are turrets, and the next digit is the resolution: the S445 is a 4MP turret and the S385 an 8MP bullet.
How big a hard drive do I need?
