Ajax 6V PSU (type A) - 38213
6V PSU (type A) lets an Ajax Hub 2 family hub or a ReX 2 range extender run from a battery instead of the mains. It goes inside the device in place of the standard mains power board and accepts 4.2 to 10 V DC, the range of the zinc-air alkaline batteries Ajax recommends for it. That makes it a fit for sites with the power switched off or never connected, such as empty properties, building sites and outbuildings. How long the system runs depends on the battery capacity and how the hub is set up. The board feeds the hub at 4.8 V, connects through a standard DC jack and comes with a terminal adapter.

Common questions
Can I use a 12 V battery with it?
No. The input range is 4.2 to 10 V DC. To run a Hub 2 family hub or ReX 2 from a 12 V or 24 V source, use the 12-24V PSU (type A).
Which batteries does Ajax recommend?
Zinc-air alkaline batteries with an operating voltage between 4.2 and 10 V.
How long will the hub run on a battery?
It depends on the battery capacity and on the hub settings, such as which communication channels are in use and how often devices are polled. A larger battery and fewer active channels give a longer running time.
Will it fit my original Ajax Hub (2G) or Hub Plus?
No. Ajax lists it for Hub (4G) Jeweller, Hub 2 (2G), Hub 2 (4G), Hub 2 Plus and ReX 2 only.
