Ajax Bracket for DoorProtect Magnet White Spare Magnet Mounting Panel (22053)

Ajax Bracket for DoorProtect Magnet - 22053

This is a spare white mounting bracket for the magnet half of an Ajax DoorProtect Jeweller opening detector. DoorProtect Jeweller comes with two magnets, a big one and a small one, and only one is used on a door or window. The big magnet does not screw straight to the frame: its mounting panel is fixed to the moving part of the door or window first, and the magnet then fits onto the panel. The small magnet is fixed directly and does not use a panel. Order this bracket to replace a lost or damaged one, or to re-fit a big magnet in a new position.

Also listed as 22053 (white).

Key features

• Replacement mounting panel for the big magnet supplied with DoorProtect Jeweller.
• Fixed to the door or window first, with the magnet fitted onto it afterwards, so the magnet can be taken off without unscrewing the panel.
• White, to match the white DoorProtect Jeweller detector and magnet.
• The big magnet works with a gap of up to 2 cm to the detector, against 1 cm for the small magnet.
• For indoor doors and windows, as Ajax rates DoorProtect Jeweller for indoor use only.

Technical specification

Works with

Ajax DoorProtect Jeweller (big magnet). The detector itself sits on its own SmartBracket mounting panel, which is sold separately as SmartBracket for DoorProtect (9521).

Common questions

Which DoorProtect magnet does this bracket hold?

The big magnet. In Ajax instructions it is the big magnet that sits on a mounting panel. The small magnet is fixed straight to the surface.

Should I use the big magnet or the small one?

Ajax says to use the big magnet when the detector and magnet sit in the same plane. The big magnet works at a gap of up to 2 cm and the small one at up to 1 cm. Fit only one of them, never both.

Which side of the detector does the magnet go?

On the moving part of the door or window, to the right of the detector. The detector has an arrow on its casing that shows the side.

Does it come with a magnet?

No. This is the bracket only. The magnets come with DoorProtect Jeweller.

Can I fix it with double-sided tape?

Ajax says tape can hold the parts in place while you test the position, but it should not be the permanent fixing because the part may come unstuck and fall.
