Ajax CombiProtect Jeweller - Wireless Motion and Glass Break Detector
CombiProtect Jeweller puts two detectors in one indoor housing: a passive infrared (PIR) sensor that watches for someone moving through the room, and a microphone that listens for a window being smashed. One unit on the wall instead of two means less to fit and one battery to look after. It reports to the Ajax hub over the two-way, encrypted Jeweller radio at up to 1,200 m in open space, and Ajax rates the supplied CR123A cell for up to 5 years. This listing is the black version.

Common questions
How much of a window does it cover?
The microphone hears breaking glass from 0.3 to 9 m away across a 180° arc in front of the detector. Ajax rates it for panes of at least 279 × 279 mm, and it will not pick up glass that is covered with a film such as security or sun-control film.
Will a dog or cat set it off?
Ajax rates the motion sensor to ignore animals up to 20 kg and up to 50 cm tall, when it is fitted at the recommended 2.4 m and set up correctly.
How long does the battery last?
Ajax calculates up to 5 years on the supplied CR123A cell. Battery level shows in the Ajax app.
Can it be fitted outside or in a garage?
Ajax rates it for indoor use only (IP50, -10 °C to +40 °C, humidity up to 75%). For outdoor coverage look at an Ajax outdoor detector such as DualCurtain Outdoor Jeweller.
How is it different from Superior CombiProtect Jeweller?
Superior CombiProtect Jeweller is the Superior (professional range) version. It adds a holding screw that fixes it to the SmartBracket, and Ajax lists different glass ratings for it (minimum pane 400 × 400 mm). Both are Security Grade 2.
