Ajax Curtain Outdoor Mini Jeweller - Wireless Curtain Detector
Curtain Outdoor Mini Jeweller is a slim wireless detector that watches a narrow strip of space, such as a window, a doorway or the side of a building, rather than a whole room. It combines a PIR sensor with a K-band microwave sensor and uses Ajax's SmartDetect processing to tell real movement from false triggers. Rated IP55 and working from -25 °C to +60 °C, it can be fixed outside on a wall or inside on a frame, and an angle mount is included for fitting it at an angle to the surface. It reports to the Ajax hub over the two-way Jeweller radio and runs on two CR123A batteries. Supplied in white.

Common questions
Can it be fitted outside?
Yes. Ajax rates it IP55 and environmental class IV, for use from -25 °C to +60 °C at humidity up to 95%. It can also be used indoors.
What is a curtain detector for?
It sees a thin slice of space, 15° wide, rather than a whole area. That suits protecting a run of windows, a doorway or a wall line, where a wide-angle detector would pick up movement you do not care about.
Will pets set it off?
Ajax gives pet immunity for animals up to 70 cm tall. Larger animals moving through the curtain can still be detected.
What if someone covers it or moves it?
The anti-masking system reports attempts to block its view, the accelerometer raises an alarm if it is moved, and the tamper switch reports it being taken off its mounting panel.
Does it take photos?
No. It has no camera. The Wings radio on this detector is used only to receive firmware updates.
How long do the batteries last?
Ajax calculates up to 3 years from the two CR123A batteries supplied in it.
