Ajax DoorProtect Jeweller - Wireless Door and Window Opening Detector
DoorProtect Jeweller lets the Ajax hub know when a door or window is opened. A reed switch in the detector reacts when the magnet on the moving part pulls away, and the alarm goes to the hub over the two-way Jeweller radio, which reaches up to 1,200 m in open space. There are two magnets in the box, a large one and a slim one, so you can pick the one that suits the frame. It also has a terminal for wiring in one more normally closed contact, and while the system is disarmed it can make the siren sound a chime when a door opens. This listing is the black version.
Also listed as 22972 (black). Ajax model ID DP.Y.J.
Key features
- Reed switch with a choice of a large or a small magnet; only one magnet is used at a time.

Common questions
Which magnet should I use?
Use one magnet only, as the detector recognises a single magnet on one side. Fix it to the moving part of the door or window, on the side shown by the arrow on the detector. The small magnet is handy where there is little room on the frame.
Can I wire another contact into it?
Yes. The terminal input takes one extra wired detector with a normally closed (NC) contact, which then reports through DoorProtect Jeweller.
Will it tell me if someone forces or tilts a window?
No. This model only senses opening through its reed switch. Ajax DoorProtect Plus Jeweller adds shock and tilt sensing.
How long does the battery last?
Ajax calculates up to 7 years on the supplied CR123A cell.
Can it go on an outside gate or shed door?
Ajax rates it for indoor use only (IP50, -10 °C to +40 °C, humidity up to 75%).
