Ajax EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller - Wireless Fire Alarm Range Extender
EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller extends the radio coverage of an Ajax EN54 wireless fire alarm. It sits between the EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller and devices that are too far away, or behind too many walls, to reach the hub directly, and relays their alarms in around 0.3 seconds. Where radio between floors or buildings is difficult, it can link back to the hub over an Ethernet cable instead. It carries both Ajax radio channels, Jeweller for alarms and events and Wings for photos and firmware updates, so intruder detectors on the same system can use it too. One fire hub can take up to five of them, each serving up to 199 devices. Choose black or white above.
Also listed as 135976 (black) and 135975 (white). Ajax model ID FRX.54.J.

Works with
EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, and the Ajax EN54 detectors, sounders, call points and modules paired to it, plus Jeweller and Wings intrusion devices on the same system. Takes an EN54 Internal Battery (24h) or EN54 Internal Battery (72h).
Common questions
Does it come with a backup battery?
No. It runs on mains power and has room for an EN54 Internal Battery, bought separately. Ajax lists up to 50 hours of operation on the 5 Ah (24h) battery and up to 100 hours on the 10 Ah (72h) battery.
How many can one fire hub take?
Up to 5 on one EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, and each range extender can serve up to 199 devices.
Can it connect to the hub by cable?
Yes. It has an Ethernet socket, so it can reach the EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller over a wired network where the radio path is poor.
Can intruder alarm detectors connect through it?
Yes. It carries both Jeweller and Wings, so Ajax intrusion devices, including detectors that send photos, can use it as well as the fire devices.
Can it go in a loft or outbuilding?
Ajax rates it for indoor use only (IP20), at -10 °C to +40 °C and humidity up to 75% non-condensing, and it needs a mains supply.
Who should design the system?
In the UK a commercial fire alarm is normally designed, installed and commissioned to BS 5839-1 by a competent fire alarm installer. We supply the equipment; we do not install it.
