Ajax EN54 FireProtect (Smoke) Jeweller - Wireless Smoke Detector
EN54 FireProtect (Smoke) Jeweller is an addressable optical smoke detector for the Ajax EN54 wireless fire system. A dual-spectrum optical sensor looks for smoke, and Ajax states that it does not react to water vapour. The sensor sits in Ajax's patented smoke chamber, which keeps dust, dirt and insects out. Nothing needs cabling: the detector reports over the two-way Jeweller radio and runs on two CR123A batteries rated for up to six years. Choose white or black above.
Also listed as 119921 (white) and 119922 (black). Ajax model ID FP.54S.J.

Common questions
Will steam from a shower or kettle set it off?
Ajax states that the dual-spectrum sensor does not respond to water vapour. Still follow the system design for each room: a kitchen normally needs a heat detector instead.
Which standards does it meet?
Ajax lists a Construction Products Regulation certificate to EN 54-7 (point smoke detectors) and EN 54-25 (radio-linked parts), issued by Dedal Attestation & Certification, plus BOSEC, DBI and Swedish SBF approvals. In the UK, a commercial fire alarm is normally designed and commissioned to BS 5839-1 by a competent installer.
How long do the batteries last?
Ajax calculates up to six years on the two CR123A batteries supplied. The battery lids open by hand, so you do not need tools to change them.
Which control panel does it work with?
It is part of the Ajax EN54 fire line, whose control panel is the EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller. Please ask us before pairing it with any other Ajax hub.
Is there a version with a sounder or a heat sensor?
Yes. Ajax also makes EN54 FireProtect (Smoke/Sounder) Jeweller and EN54 FireProtect (Heat/Smoke) Jeweller. This model senses smoke only.
