FireProtect 2 AC (Heat/Smoke) Jeweller is a mains-powered fire alarm from the Ajax Residence Line that senses both smoke and heat. It is wired to a 110-240 V supply through WAGO terminals that come fitted in its SmartBracket, and a built-in lithium cell keeps it working through a power cut. Smoke is read by a dual-spectrum optical sensor that Ajax says does not react to water vapour, inside a chamber that keeps dust, dirt and insects away from it. The heat sensor alarms above 64 °C or when the temperature rises by more than 10 °C within a minute. It has its own 85 dB siren and works with an Ajax hub over the two-way Jeweller radio. Choose black or white above.

An Ajax hub or range extender that uses the Jeweller radio, for example Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller or Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Other Ajax fire detectors on the same system, such as FireProtect 2 smoke, heat and CO alarms, join its interconnected alarm.

Common questions

What does AC mean?

It runs from the mains (110-240 V AC) rather than on batteries alone. A lithium backup cell, which is not replaceable, keeps it working if the power goes off.

Does it need an electrician?

It is wired to a mains supply through WAGO terminals in its SmartBracket. Mains wiring should be done by a competent person.

Will steam set it off?

Ajax says its dual-spectrum optical smoke sensor does not react to water vapour.

When does the heat sensor raise the alarm?

Above 64 °C, or when the temperature rises by more than 10 °C in a minute or less.

Which standards does it carry?
