Ajax FireProtect 2 SB (CO) Jeweller - Wireless Carbon Monoxide Alarm
FireProtect 2 SB (CO) Jeweller is a carbon monoxide alarm from the Ajax Residence Line. Its chemical sensor tracks how much CO has built up and sounds the alarm once the dose passes set limits: at more than 300 ppm, for example, it alarms within 3 minutes. Ajax rates the sensor for 10 years. SB means sealed batteries: two lithium cells are built in and are not meant to be changed, so there is nothing to wire. It has its own 85 dB siren and joins an Ajax hub over the two-way Jeweller radio, so a CO alarm is also passed to the Ajax app and to the other fire detectors on the system. This listing is the white version.
Also listed as 106791 (white). Ajax model ID FP2.SBC.J.

Works with
An Ajax hub or range extender that uses the Jeweller radio, for example Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller or Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Other Ajax fire detectors on the same system, such as FireProtect 2 smoke, heat and CO alarms, join its interconnected alarm.
Common questions
Does it detect smoke or heat?
No. It senses carbon monoxide only. Ajax makes FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/CO) Jeweller and FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/Smoke/CO) Jeweller if you want heat or smoke sensing in the same unit.
At what CO level does it alarm?
It works on the dose built up over time: within 90 minutes above 50 ppm, within 40 minutes above 100 ppm and within 3 minutes above 300 ppm.
How long does the sensor last?
Ajax rates the CO sensor for 10 years. The two lithium batteries are sealed in and are not replaced.
Which standards does it carry?
EN 50291-1:2018 and BS EN 50291-1:2018, with BSI Kitemark KM 797661 for carbon monoxide alarms.
Is it suitable for rented homes?
It is listed to BS EN 50291-1 and carries a BSI Kitemark. Landlords should check the alarm rules that apply in their part of the UK.
Where can it be fitted?
Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP20, for 0 °C to +50 °C and humidity up to 80%.
