Ajax FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/CO) Jeweller - Heat and Carbon Monoxide Alarm
FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/CO) Jeweller puts a heat sensor and a carbon monoxide sensor into one compact Ajax alarm, with no smoke sensor. The heat side reacts above 64 °C or to a rise of more than 10 °C within a minute, and the chemical CO sensor alarms as the dose builds up, for example within 3 minutes at more than 300 ppm. It runs on two sealed lithium batteries, so there is nothing to wire, and it sounds its own 85 dB siren. Paired with an Ajax hub over the Jeweller radio, its alarms also reach the Ajax app and the other fire detectors on the system. Choose black or white above.

An Ajax hub or range extender that uses the Jeweller radio, for example Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller or Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Other Ajax fire detectors on the same system, such as FireProtect 2 smoke, heat and CO alarms, join its interconnected alarm.
Common questions
Does it detect smoke?
No. It senses heat and carbon monoxide. For smoke as well, Ajax makes FireProtect 2 SB (Heat/Smoke/CO) Jeweller.
Why choose a heat alarm rather than a smoke alarm?
A heat sensor does not respond to cooking fumes the way a smoke sensor can, which is why heat alarms are often chosen for kitchens.
At what CO level does it alarm?
It works on the dose built up over time: within 90 minutes above 50 ppm, within 40 minutes above 100 ppm and within 3 minutes above 300 ppm.
Can the batteries be changed?
No. SB means sealed batteries. Ajax makes FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/CO) Jeweller with replaceable batteries.
Which standards does it carry?
BS 5446-2 and EN 54-5 (except cl. 4.2.2.1) for heat, EN 50291-1 for CO, BSI Kitemarks KM 797644 and KM 797661, and Grade F1 under BS 5839-6 as listed by Ajax.
