Ajax FireProtect Jeweller - Wireless Smoke and Heat Detector

FireProtect Jeweller is a battery-powered Ajax fire detector that watches for smoke and heat in the same unit. A photoelectric chamber picks up smoke, and a thermistor raises the alarm if the room goes above 60 °C or warms by more than 30 °C in half an hour or less. Its own 85 dB siren sounds at the detector, and once it is paired with an Ajax hub over the two-way Jeweller radio, every fire detector on the system sounds together and the alarm is passed to the Ajax app. This listing is the black version.

An Ajax hub or range extender that uses the Jeweller radio, for example Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller or Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Other Ajax fire detectors on the same system, including the FireProtect 2 alarms, share its interconnected alarm.

Common questions

Does it detect carbon monoxide?

No. This model senses smoke and heat only. Ajax makes FireProtect Plus Jeweller and the FireProtect 2 CO models for carbon monoxide.

What batteries does it take?

Two CR2 batteries power it and a CR2032 acts as a backup. All three come fitted and can be replaced.

How does it avoid false alarms from a puff of smoke?

Ajax uses its HazeFlow check. The detector sets the first trigger aside and only raises the alarm if it still finds smoke on a second check 30 seconds later.

How do I test it or stop it sounding?

Press the touch button on the front. In normal use it starts a smoke chamber test; during an alarm or a fault it turns off the detector sound.

Will the hub know if it is taken down?

Yes. A tamper alarm is sent if it is pulled off the surface or out of its mounting panel, and the hub reports a loss of connection after 36 seconds.

Where can it be fitted?

Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP40, for 0 °C to +65 °C and humidity up to 80%.
