Ajax Hub 2 (4G) Jeweller Wireless Alarm Panel

Ajax Hub 2 (4G) Jeweller - Wireless Alarm Control Panel

Hub 2 (4G) Jeweller runs an Ajax wireless alarm. Detectors, keypads and sirens report to it over the encrypted two-way Jeweller radio, and it sends alarms and events on to the Ajax apps and, where one is used, to an alarm receiving centre. For its own connection it has an Ethernet port and two micro-SIM slots that work on 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE). All three routes stay live at once, so losing one does not cut the system off. A second radio, Wings, collects photos from Ajax detectors with cameras, so you can see what set off an alarm. Pick white or black above.

Also listed as 34721 (white) and 34720 (black). Ajax model ID HB2.4G.J.

Key features

• Ethernet plus two micro-SIM slots covering 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE), working in parallel with an instant switch between Ethernet and SIM.
• Jeweller radio range up to 2,000 m in open space, with block encryption, frequency hopping and device authentication.
• Photo verification from camera detectors over Wings (up to 1,700 m): on alarm, on demand, on a schedule or from a scenario.
• Room for up to 100 Ajax devices, 25 IP cameras or DVRs, 50 users, 9 security groups, 50 rooms and 32 automation scenarios.
• Alerts by push notification, SMS and phone call, and reporting to monitoring stations over SIA DC-09, Contact ID and ADEMCO 685.
• Runs from 110-240 V mains with a backup battery inside, or from 6 V or 12-24 V DC with an optional Ajax PSU module.

Technical specification

Works with

Ajax Jeweller devices, for example MotionProtect Jeweller and DoorProtect Jeweller detectors, KeyPad Plus Jeweller, HomeSiren Jeweller and StreetSiren Jeweller. Photo verification needs a camera detector such as MotionCam Jeweller. ReX 2 Jeweller extends the radio range, and the 6V PSU (type A) or 12-24V PSU (type A) lets the hub run from a low-voltage supply.

Common questions

What is the difference between Hub 2 (4G) and Hub 2 (2G)?

Both have Ethernet, two SIM slots and photo verification. On this 4G version the SIMs can use 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE) networks, where the 2G version uses 2G only, which matters in areas where 2G coverage is weak.

What happens if the broadband goes down?

Ethernet and both SIMs work side by side, and the hub moves from Ethernet to a SIM straight away, so alarms still get through over the mobile network.

Can it send a photo when the alarm goes off?

Yes, when it is paired with Ajax detectors that have a camera. Photos arrive over the Wings radio, 1 to 5 at a time, in up to 9 seconds. You can also ask for a photo on demand, on a schedule or from a scenario.

How many devices and users can it take?

Up to 100 Ajax devices, 50 users, 9 security groups and 50 rooms, with up to 32 automation scenarios. Ajax also lists up to 25 IP cameras or DVRs.

Can it report to an alarm receiving centre?

Yes. It supports SIA (DC-09), SurGard (Contact ID) and ADEMCO 685, and it is certified to Security Grade 2 with PD 6662:2017 listed.

Where can it be fitted?

Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP20 for -10 °C to +40 °C and humidity up to 75%. It needs a mains socket nearby, or a DC supply through an Ajax PSU module.
