Ajax LifeQuality Jeweller - Wireless Air Quality Monitor
LifeQuality Jeweller watches three things in a room: the level of carbon dioxide (CO2), the temperature and the humidity. The readings go to the Ajax apps, where they are drawn as charts, and the light on the front changes colour as the CO2 level climbs, so anyone in the room can see when it is time to let some fresh air in. The hub can also act on the readings. Set a scenario and an Ajax relay or smart plug can start a fan, heater or dehumidifier when a value moves outside the range you choose. Two CR123A batteries come fitted, and the monitor can either go on the wall on its SmartBracket or simply stand on a shelf. Choose black or white above.
Also listed as 52272 (black) and 52273 (white). Ajax model ID LQ.Y.J.
Key features
- CO2 measured from 400 to 10,000 ppm, accurate to ±30 ppm or ±3%.
- Temperature from 0 °C to +50 °C (±0.2 °C) and relative humidity from 0 to 100% (±1.8%).
- Four-colour LED for the CO2 level: green, yellow, red and purple.
- Charts of all three readings in the Ajax apps, with up to 3 days of readings held in the device memory.
- Scenarios that react to changes in temperature, humidity or CO2, for example to switch on ventilation.
- Self-calibration every 1 to 14 days, plus manual calibration from the app for rooms without ventilation.
- Accelerometer alert if it is pulled off the wall, lifted off its SmartBracket or moved from a shelf.
- Jeweller radio up to 1,700 m in open space, with Wings as a second channel to the hub.

Works with
Ajax hubs that use the Jeweller radio, such as Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller, Hub 2 (4G) Jeweller and Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Keep the hub firmware up to date before pairing. ReX 2 Jeweller can extend the radio range. To run a fan, heater or dehumidifier from its readings, pair it with Relay Jeweller, WallSwitch Jeweller or Socket (type G) Jeweller.
Common questions
What do the LED colours mean?
They follow the CO2 level. Green means normal air (up to 1,000 ppm), yellow slightly polluted, red polluted, and purple critically polluted (above 2,000 ppm). Turning the LED and accelerometer off stretches battery life from 2.5 to up to 3 years.
Can it switch on ventilation by itself?
Yes, through a scenario. When the temperature, humidity or CO2 passes a level you set, the hub can switch an Ajax relay, WallSwitch or Socket (type G) that feeds a fan or other appliance.
Does it have to be fixed to a wall?
No. Ajax designs it for indoor use at any height, and it can stand on a table or shelf without the SmartBracket. The accelerometer reports it if someone moves it.
What if it loses contact with the hub?
It keeps up to 3 days of readings in its own memory, and it has Wings as a second radio channel to the hub. A lost connection is detected within 36 seconds.
Does it need calibrating?
It calibrates itself every 1 to 14 days. In a room with no ventilation, run a manual calibration from the Ajax app; Ajax suggests doing that every 2 to 3 weeks.
Is it an alarm detector?
It is a comfort and automation device rather than an intruder detector, so it carries no EN 50131 security grade. It joins the same Ajax system and app as the alarm.
