Ajax Relay Jeweller - Wireless Dry Contact Relay

Relay Jeweller gives an Ajax system a volt-free (dry) contact, so it can switch a separate circuit. The relay runs from its own 7-24 V DC supply, and its contact handles up to 5 A at 24 V DC, or up to 13 A at 110-230 V AC on a resistive load. Use it, for example, to operate a gate controller or an electric lock, or to switch lighting or ventilation from the app, on a timetable, or when the alarm is set, unset or triggered. In the Ajax app you choose whether the contact is normally open or normally closed, and whether it gives a timed pulse or stays on until told to switch off. The module is black and measures 39 × 33 × 18 mm.

Ajax hubs that use the Jeweller radio, such as Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller, Hub 2 (4G) Jeweller and Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Keep the hub firmware up to date before pairing. ReX 2 Jeweller can extend the radio range. Button Jeweller, LightSwitch Jeweller and LifeQuality Jeweller can trigger it through scenarios, and DIN Holder mounts it on a DIN rail.

Relay Jeweller or WallSwitch Jeweller?

Relay Jeweller has a volt-free contact and takes its own 7-24 V DC supply, so it can switch a circuit that is separate from its power. WallSwitch Jeweller is powered from the 110-230 V mains it switches, and it also measures the energy used.

Can it switch a mains load?

Its contact is rated up to 13 A at 110-230 V AC on a resistive load, or 8 A on an inductive or capacitive one. The relay itself still needs a 7-24 V DC supply. Mains wiring should be done by a qualified electrician.

Can it give a short pulse for a gate or lock?

Yes. In pulse mode the contact changes state for a time you set between 0.5 and 255 seconds. In bistable mode it stays switched until it is told to change back.

Can I fit it outside?

Only inside a sealed enclosure. The relay itself is rated IP20 and works from -10 °C to +64 °C with humidity up to 75%.

Does it need batteries?

No. It runs from an external 7-24 V DC supply and uses up to 1 W.
