Common questions
What does hybrid mean on this panel?
It runs wired Fibra devices and wireless Jeweller devices on the same system, so you can cable the areas that suit wiring and use wireless devices elsewhere.
What cable do the Fibra devices use?
4-core cable. The hub has 8 Fibra lines, each up to 2,000 m long, wired in a star or ring, and it can supply up to 14.4 W to the devices on them.
How does it differ from Superior Hub Hybrid 2?
Superior Hub Hybrid 2 takes up to 250 devices and 200 users against 100 and 50 here, its SIMs work on 2G, 3G and 4G rather than 2G only, and its radio reaches up to 3,500 m against 2,000 m.
Is a backup battery included?
A battery connection cable is in the box, but Ajax does not list a battery. Ajax quotes up to 60 hours without mains, and the Battery Power Saver setting can stretch this.
Can it report to an alarm receiving centre?
Yes. It supports SurGard (Contact ID) and SIA (DC-09), and it is certified to Security Grade 3 with PD 6662:2017 listed.
Where can it be fitted?
Indoors only. Ajax rates the casing IP40 and IK06 for -10 °C to +40 °C and humidity up to 75%.
