Ajax Superior MotionCam HD (PhOD) Jeweller - PIR Detector with HD Photo Verification
Superior MotionCam HD (PhOD) Jeweller is a PIR motion detector with a camera that can take photos at up to 960 × 720 pixels. It takes a photo series when it is armed and sees movement, and it can also take pictures on request, on a schedule, when the security mode changes, when another Ajax detector triggers it, and, on units made from March 2026, when its tamper is triggered. Alarms go over Superior Jeweller and photos over TurboWings, each up to 1,700 m in open space. It has four sensitivity levels, a 90° by 50° camera view and a holding screw that fixes it to the SmartBracket. Choose black or white above.

Ajax hubs with photo verification. To get photos at the full 960 × 720, choose a hub whose specification lists that resolution, such as Hub BP Jeweller, Superior Hub Hybrid 2, Superior Hub G3 Jeweller or Superior MegaHub; Ajax lists up to 640 × 480 for Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller, Hub 2 (4G) Jeweller and Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Ajax lists Hub (2G) Jeweller and Hub (4G) Jeweller as not supporting MotionCam detectors. Check the Ajax compatibility list for your hub before ordering.
Common questions
What does the HD model add?
It can take photos at up to 960 × 720 pixels, where Ajax lists 640 × 480 as the top setting for MotionCam Jeweller. It also has four motion sensitivity levels and a holding screw for the SmartBracket.
Will I get 960 × 720 photos with my hub?
Only if the hub supports that resolution. Ajax lists 960 × 720 for hubs such as Hub BP Jeweller, Superior Hub Hybrid 2 and Superior Hub G3 Jeweller, and up to 640 × 480 for the Hub 2 range.
What is photo by tamper alarm?
The camera takes a picture if someone triggers the tamper, for example by trying to take the detector off its bracket. It needs firmware 16.132.41.30 or later (units made from March 2026) and is off by default.
How long do the batteries last?
Ajax quotes up to 4 years on the two supplied CR123A cells, or up to 3 years depending on how it is set up.
Will my pets set it off?
Ajax rates it to ignore animals up to 20 kg and up to 50 cm tall when it is fitted at the recommended 2.4 m.
