Superior MotionProtect G3 Jeweller is a Grade 3 wireless PIR detector from the Ajax Superior range, for indoor areas on systems that need a higher security grade. It covers up to 15 m with a 90° by 71° field, and its blind zone directly underneath is cut to 0.5 m. Anti-masking warns you if the lens is covered, three tamper switches and a SmartBracket lock guard against removal, and the detector checks its own sensors and reports a fault. It uses Superior Jeweller, the Grade 3 version of Ajax's radio, with up to 3,000 m range in open space, and runs for up to 7 years on its four CR123A batteries. This listing is the white version.

Common questions

What does G3 mean?

Ajax uses G3 for Superior devices certified to Security Grade 3 under EN 50131. To grade a whole system at Grade 3, the hub and the other devices need to be Grade 3 as well.

What is anti-masking?

It spots attempts to block the detector's view, for example by covering the lens, and reports them so the system is not left blind.

Will pets trigger it?

This model has no pet immunity setting, so it suits areas where animals are not left while the alarm is set.

How high should it be fitted?

Ajax recommends 2.4 m. Its blind zone directly below is reduced to 0.5 m, leaving only a small area beneath it that it cannot see.

How long do the batteries last?

Up to 7 years on the four CR123A batteries that come fitted, by Ajax's calculation.
