Ajax WaterStop ½" (DN 15) Jeweller - Wireless Water Shut-off Valve
WaterStop ½" (DN 15) Jeweller turns a plain ball valve into one the Ajax system can close. It combines a brass ½-inch ball valve with an electric actuator that sits on top, runs on batteries and shuts the valve in up to 7 seconds. Put it in a scenario with an Ajax leak detector and it closes when that detector raises an alarm. It can also be opened or closed from the Ajax app, on a timetable, when the alarm is set, or with the button on the actuator. In an emergency, a lever on the mounting platform lets you shut the water by hand without tools. Choose a black or white actuator above.
Also listed as 52270 (black) and 52271 (white). Ajax model ID WTS15.Y.J.
Key features
- ½" (DN 15) brass ball valve with BSP parallel female threads at both ends.
- Electric actuator with up to 8.5 Nm of torque, closing the valve in up to 7 seconds at up to 10 bar.
- For water supply and heating systems: hot and cold water and non-aggressive liquids from -20 °C to +170 °C.
- Control from the Ajax apps, with the button on the actuator, or by hand with the lever on the mounting platform.
- Scenarios for alarms (including leaks), security mode changes, schedules, temperature, humidity or CO2, and Button or LightSwitch.
- Runs on 4 × CR123A batteries (fitted), or from an optional external 7.5-14 V DC supply rated at 1.8 A or more.

Works with
Ajax hubs that use the Jeweller radio, such as Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller, Hub 2 (4G) Jeweller and Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. Keep the hub firmware up to date before pairing. ReX 2 Jeweller can extend the radio range. Pair it with LeaksProtect Jeweller leak detectors so a leak alarm closes the valve. The same actuator is also listed with ¾" (DN 20) and 1" (DN 25) valves.
Common questions
Which size do I need?
Match the valve to the pipework thread. This one has ½" (DN 15) BSP parallel female threads. We also list the ¾" (DN 20) and 1" (DN 25) versions.
Will it close the water when a leak is found?
Yes, with a scenario. Link it to an Ajax leak detector such as LeaksProtect Jeweller and the valve closes, in up to 7 seconds, when that detector raises an alarm.
Can I still turn the water off without the app?
Yes. Press the button on the actuator, or use the lever on the mounting platform, which shuts the water by hand without tools.
How is it powered?
By 4 × CR123A batteries fitted at the factory. It can also run from an external 7.5-14 V DC supply rated at 1.8 A or more.
Who should fit it?
Ajax advises that a plumber fits the valve. The actuator then fits onto it without tools in any of 4 positions. It is for indoor use only.
Can it go on a heating circuit?
Ajax lists water supply and heating systems, with hot or cold water and other non-aggressive liquids from -20 °C to +170 °C, at operating pressures up to 10 bar.
