Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3649QM-S-IL-G - 6MP Smart Dual Light Eyeball Network Camera, Grey

Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3649QM-S-IL-G — 6MP Eyeball IP Camera, Grey

The Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3649QM-S-IL-G (also written IPC-HDW3649QM-S-IL-G) is the grey version of the Dahua DH-IPC-HDW3649QM-S-IL: a 6MP eyeball-style IP camera with a fixed lens (contact us for lens options) and Dahua's Smart Dual Light system, combining infrared and warm LED illumination for colour night imaging at up to 30m. Onboard deep-learning analytics classify people and vehicles, and a built-in microphone captures audio alongside video.

Who is it for?

IP cameras carry video and PoE power over one Cat5e/Cat6 cable to a PoE NVR — ideal when cabling from scratch or wanting resolutions/analytics beyond coax. This 6MP eyeball camera suits shopfronts, offices and residential entrances where a compact, vandal-resistant dome-style body and clear detail are needed. Its IP67 rating and -40°C to +60°C operating range make it equally suited to sheltered outdoor mounting, while AI-based human/vehicle detection reduces false alarms compared with basic motion sensing.

Key specification

What you will need

• A PoE NVR that supports 6MP recording — see our NVRs range
• Cat5e or Cat6 cabling run from the camera to the NVR or switch
• For long cable runs or multiple cameras on one branch, a dedicated PoE switch is recommended
• If recording faces or vehicles in public-facing areas, appropriate GDPR signage should be displayed

Frequently asked questions

Will this camera work with a non-Dahua NVR?

Yes. It supports ONVIF (Profile S, G, T and M), so it can be added to most third-party NVR/VMS systems, though some Dahua-specific AI features are only fully accessible with Dahua recording software.

Does it need a separate power supply?

No — it can be powered over the network cable via PoE (802.3af), or with a 12VDC supply if PoE is not available.

How much storage will I need?

At 6MP the camera records more data per frame than a 2MP or 4MP model, so storage should be sized accordingly — H.265 compression significantly reduces file size compared with H.264.

Does it record audio?

Yes, it has a built-in microphone for real-time audio alongside the video stream.

What colour is it?

This version has a grey housing. The camera is also listed in white and black.
