Common questions

What does WizMind mean on the IPC-EBW81242P-AS-S2?

WizMind is Dahua's project-oriented range that uses deep learning algorithms. On this fisheye camera the intelligent functions include tripwire and intrusion with accurate human detection, people counting, queue management and heat map. Our WizMind guide explains the range.

What is a fisheye camera used for?

Dahua says its fisheye cameras can realize 360° surveillance and are used in places such as airports, shopping centres, banks and hotels. As a surveillance camera it supports ceiling, wall and ground mounting, with front-dewarp and back-dewarp display modes.

Can it count people?

Yes. People counting supports 4 rules to count people entering, exiting and staying, and it can display and export reports by year, month, week, day or a custom time. Heat map shows crowd density and where people appear.

How is it powered, and where does it record?

It runs from 12 VDC or PoE+, and ePoE is not supported. It can record to a Micro SD card up to 256 GB, or to FTP, SFTP or NAS.

How far does the IR reach?

With the 1.85mm lens the 3 IR LEDs reach up to 10 m (32.81 ft), and the camera lists 0 lux with the illuminator on.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

It is IP67 rated, so it is dust-proof and the enclosure keeps working after soaking in 1 m of water for 30 minutes, and IK10 rated for impact. Dahua lists an operating temperature of -40 °C to +60 °C.
