The DS-2CD2766G2H-IPTRZS2U/SL is the 6 MP member of Hikvision's PTRZ dome family, and it combines the two things that usually mean two separate cameras: a lens assembly that can be pan, tilt, rotate and zoom adjusted entirely from the software, and an active deterrence package with a white strobe light and an audible warning through a built-in speaker.
AcuSense deep-learning classification separates people and vehicles from foliage, rain, shadows and animals, so line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting trigger only on real targets. Face capture is supported.
Unlike a fixed dome, the whole optical block repositions remotely: pan 0° to 350°, tilt 0° to 85°, rotate 0° to 350°, plus the 2.8–12 mm motorised zoom. An installer mounts the camera, then frames the shot from a laptop rather than from the top of a ladder — and the view can be re-aimed months later without another visit.
It is worth being clear about what this is not. This is not a PTZ. Hikvision rates the positioning mechanism at a maximum of 1,000 cycles. It is designed for commissioning and the occasional re-aim, not for an operator to drive it around all day. If you need continuous operator control or patrol tours, you need a true PTZ camera.
Hikvision's published DORI figures show how much the zoom changes the camera's job. Wide: detect 74.3 m, observe 29.5 m, recognise 14.9 m, identify 7.4 m. Tele: detect 183.3 m, observe 72.8 m, recognise 36.7 m, identify 18.3 m. The night limit is the 40 m IR range — beyond that, the tele figures depend on ambient or added lighting.
Note the speaker here is 97 dB, where the DS-2CD2T86G2H-IS2U/SL bullet manages 120 dB. This camera is better suited to a courtyard or entrance than to being heard across an open yard.
No. The positioning mechanism is rated for a maximum of 1,000 cycles and is intended for commissioning and occasional re-aiming. For continuous operator control, specify a PTZ.
Yes — the camera's own event rules drive both.
No. This is AcuSense with infrared night vision, so the image goes to black and white in darkness. The white light is a strobe for deterrence, not continuous illumination for colour night video.
It supports ONVIF Profile S, T and G, so it will record on most ONVIF recorders. AcuSense classification, strobe and audio are best supported on Hikvision recorders.
