The Hikvision DS-2CD6365G1-S/RC is a 6MP fisheye that is really a retail analytics instrument. It watches a whole room from one ceiling mount — and then tells you how many people came in, how long they queued, and where they spent their time.
Four analytics run on the camera itself:
That is a different purchase from a security camera. It answers questions a shop manager asks — is the second till worth opening, which aisle end actually works, when does the queue build — rather than questions about an incident.
The 1.16mm lens covers a full hemisphere — 180 degrees horizontally and vertically — at 2560 × 2560. One camera in the middle of a ceiling sees the whole room, with no blind spot beneath it and nothing to aim.
Twenty display modes dewarp that circular image into something usable: 180° panorama, 360° panorama, fisheye plus three or eight virtual PTZ views, hemisphere, cylinder, and several more. You can pull virtual pan-tilt-zoom views out of the recorded footage after the fact — the whole scene is always captured.
Four built-in microphones, plus line in and line out, audio exception detection, and SIP support for integration with a VoIP phone system or PBX. There are two alarm inputs and two outputs rated 24V DC at 1A.
Identification range is 2.3 metres. That is the honest figure, and it follows from spreading 6MP across a full hemisphere. This camera tells you that forty people came in and eleven queued for four minutes. It will not tell you who they were beyond very close range.
Pair it with a conventional camera at the door if you need identification — they do different jobs and the combination is the right answer for most retail sites.
Operating range is −10°C to +40°C and there is no weather rating. Indoor only, and not in an unheated warehouse in winter.
Digital WDR, not true WDR, and low light is 0.01 lux. It wants a lit space.
It denotes the retail-analytics build — people counting, queue management and heat mapping run on the camera and produce scheduled reports.
Only within about 2.3 metres. A fisheye spreads its pixels across a whole hemisphere, so it is a counting and behaviour camera, not an identification camera. Pair it with a conventional camera at the entrance.
The counting, queueing and heat map functions run on the camera and can email reports directly. Hik-Central adds richer reporting if you want it.
Yes. The full hemisphere is always recorded, so you can pull virtual PTZ views out of past footage — something a conventional camera cannot do.
No. −10°C to +40°C with no weather rating, so heated indoor spaces only.
