The Hikvision DS-2CD6425G2-C2 is a separated camera — the lens sits at the end of a cable, and the body that does the work is hidden somewhere else entirely.
Everything that makes a camera visible — the housing, the electronics, the mount — is in a main body of 105 × 78 × 26 mm that you conceal in a ceiling void, a cabinet or a riser. What you actually see at the scene is a small lens head on a 2-metre or 8-metre cable.
This model takes two lens heads, each recording its own 1080p stream. Two discreet viewpoints, one body, one network drop.
The lens head determines the view, and the DORI figures differ accordingly:
| Module | Focal length | Horizontal view | Identify |
|---|---|---|---|
| L10 / L20 | 2.8 mm | 93.8° | 4.8 m |
| L10 / L20 | 3.7 mm | 77.5° | 5.9 m |
| L30 | 2.8 mm | 109.0° | 4.0 m |
| L30 | 4 mm | 82.8° | 5.5 m |
Identification happens at four to six metres. That is short, and entirely appropriate — a covert camera is nearly always watching a till, a doorway or a counter at close range, not a car park.
It records 1080p at 50fps — double the usual 25. Where hands move quickly, that matters: a till, a cash drawer, a counting area, a gaming table. At 25fps the decisive movement often falls between frames.
This is a HEOP camera — Hikvision's open platform. It carries 4 TOPS of computing power, 375MB of smart RAM and 2GB of onboard storage, and accepts custom deep-learning models built in Caffe, PyTorch or TensorFlow, programmed in C or C++.
Most buyers will never touch it. If you are working with an integrator building bespoke analytics, it means the camera can run their model on board rather than shipping video to a server.
It has no infrared and no weatherproof rating. This is an indoor camera for lit spaces — it is not a substitute for an outdoor bullet.
The lens modules are ordered separately and the choice is permanent in practice. Tell us the distance and what you need to resolve, and we will work out which module and focal length suits.
Identification range is short by design — four to six metres. Mount it close to what matters.
Covert recording carries specific legal obligations beyond ordinary CCTV. See our FAQ on CCTV law, and take advice before deploying in a workplace.
The lens is on a cable, physically apart from the camera body. You conceal the body and expose only a small lens head at the scene.
One body with two lens heads, recording two independent 1080p streams. It will use two channels on your recorder.
No — there is no infrared. It works down to 0.005 lux, so it needs some ambient light.
No. Indoor use only, −30°C to +50°C.
Running custom deep-learning models on the camera itself. Relevant if you are working with an integrator building bespoke analytics; otherwise it does not affect normal use.
