Hikvision iDS-7216HUHI-M2/PXT - 16 Channel 2 Bay AcuSense PoC DVR

The Hikvision iDS-7216HUHI-M2/PXT is a 16-channel 5MP AcuSense PoC DVR with two drive bays. It powers all sixteen cameras over the same coax that carries the video — the largest PoC recorder in the range, and the one that removes the most cabling work.

Sixteen cameras, sixteen cables

On a normal coax install, sixteen cameras means sixteen video runs and sixteen power runs, plus a PSU box to house them. With PoC the recorder does both down one cable each. On a site of this size that is a substantial saving in labour, containment and fault-finding.

It requires Hikvision PoC cameras. Ordinary HD-TVI cameras work on video but still need their own supply — so specify the cameras alongside the recorder, and we can confirm the match.

Mains powered, unlike the smaller PoC models

Worth noting for the installer: this model runs on 100–240 V AC directly, where the 4 and 8-channel PoC versions use an external 48 V brick. One less power supply to find space for, and no adaptor to lose.

The AI is in the recorder, not the cameras

Motion Detection 2.0 runs on the recorder and is enabled by default on every analogue channel, so existing cameras gain people and vehicle classification. Up to 16 channels of advanced perimeter protection, 4-channel face capture and 4-channel face comparison against 16 libraries, with the library backed up to disk and internal flash.

Frequently asked questions

Do I still need power supplies for my cameras?

Not with Hikvision PoC cameras — the recorder powers all sixteen over the coax. Non-PoC cameras will still need their own supply.

Can I reuse my existing coax?

Usually yes, and on a sixteen-camera retrofit that is where PoC saves the most. Cable condition and run lengths matter, so tell us what is installed.

How many cameras in total?

Up to 48 — sixteen on coax plus up to thirty-two IP at 8MP.

Does it come with hard drives?

No. Two SATA drives up to 12TB each, supplied separately.
