Hikvision iDS-7316HUHI-M4/S - 16 Channel 4 Bay AcuSense DVR

The Hikvision iDS-7316HUHI-M4/S is a 16-channel Ultra Series AcuSense DVR with four drive bays — the capacity tier of the coax range, for sites that need long retention and room to grow onto IP.

Read this before you plan the channels

Perimeter protection runs on 8 channels — and only on specific ports: channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

A camera plugged into channel 5 to 8 or 13 to 16 gets no perimeter analysis. On a sixteen-camera system that is half your inputs, and it is easy to wire them in order and quietly lose the analytics on the views that matter. Plan the channel map before the install — we will do it with you.

People-and-vehicle Motion Detection 2.0 does run on every analogue channel by default, so no channel is left without any classification. It is the advanced perimeter analysis that is port-restricted.

Four bays and up to 34 IP channels

Four SATA bays plus eSATA, at up to 12TB per disk — 48TB raw. Across sixteen cameras that is months of retention rather than weeks.

It also accepts 18 IP cameras as standard, expandable to 34, at up to 12MP — so a site part-way through moving from coax to IP can run 50 cameras from one recorder. 320 Mbps of bandwidth supports that.

Two independent displays

HDMI 2 runs at 4K independently, while HDMI 1 and VGA mirror each other at 1080p. Two operators can watch different things from the same recorder — a spot monitor on the shop floor and a full matrix in the office.

A note on RAID

Some distributors list this model as supporting RAID. Hikvision's current UK specification does not state RAID support, so we are not claiming it. If RAID matters to your installation, ask us and we will confirm with Hikvision before you order rather than have you find out afterwards.

What you'll need with it

• Hard drives — none are supplied. Four bays at up to 12TB. Size them with our CCTV storage calculator and use surveillance-rated drives.
• A channel plan, so cameras needing perimeter analysis sit on channels 1–4 or 9–12.
• 1.5U of rack space and reasonable airflow.

Frequently asked questions

Which channels support perimeter protection?

Channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 only. Other channels record normally, with people-and-vehicle motion detection still active.

How many cameras in total?

Up to 50 — sixteen on coax plus up to thirty-four IP at 12MP.

Can I run two different views on two monitors?

Yes. HDMI 2 is independent at 4K; HDMI 1 and VGA mirror each other at 1080p.

How does it compare to the 32-channel iDS-7332HUHI-M4/S?

Same chassis and storage, double the coax channels, and perimeter protection on sixteen channels instead of eight. If you have more than sixteen cameras, that is the model.

Does it come with hard drives?

No. Four SATA drives up to 12TB each, supplied separately.
