Hikvision iDS-9664NXI-P8R - 64 Channel DeepinMind Pro NVR with Redundant PSU

The Hikvision iDS-9664NXI-P8R is a 64-channel DeepinMind Pro network video recorder with four GPU engines, AcuSeek, eight SATA bays, full RAID and a redundant power supply.

Four GPU engines, and you choose what they do

This is the meaningful difference from the standard DeepinMind range, which has two fixed engines. The P8R has one GPU engine dedicated to AcuSeek plus three configurable engines, and each of those three can be assigned to whichever job the site needs:

• Facial recognition — 8-ch video target capture at 4 MP, or 32-ch image comparison
• Perimeter protection — 12-ch video analysis at 2 MP, or 32-ch image analysis
• Video structuralisation — 8-ch structured analysis at 2 MP
• AcuSearch — 16-ch at 2 MP by the recorder itself

In practice that means a car park can put its engines on ANPR and perimeter, while a retail site puts the same hardware on faces and structuralisation. One recorder, configured to the job. Note that to use AcuSeek at least one engine must be set to AcuSearch mode.

The R is a redundant power supply

Two supplies rather than one. If a PSU fails, the recorder keeps running instead of stopping — which on a 64-camera system carrying evidence is the difference between a service call and a gap in the footage. That is what separates this from the iDS-9664NXI-M8/X, and it is easy to miss in the model number.

What you'll need with it

What does the R mean?

Redundant power supply — two PSUs, so a single failure does not stop the recorder.

How is it different from the iDS-9664NXI-M8/X?

Four GPU engines instead of two, and they are configurable. AcuSeek included. Face comparison on all 64 channels rather than 48. 20 TB disks rather than 16 TB. And the redundant power supply.

Do I need AcuSense cameras?

For the full 600,000 targets a day, yes. Without them the recorder still does AcuSearch and AcuSeek on up to 32 channels at 2 MP using ordinary IP cameras — which is unusual and worth knowing.

Does it come with hard drives?

No. Eight 3.5-inch SATA drives up to 20 TB each, supplied separately.
