BulletCam HL (5 Mp/2.8 mm) is a 5-megapixel wired bullet camera from the Ajax video range. One network cable from a PoE switch or recorder powers it and carries the picture, or it can run from a separate 12 V supply. Behind the 2.8 mm lens it covers roughly 100 to 110 degrees across, which suits a driveway, a yard or the side of a building. HL stands for hybrid lighting: it has both white LEDs and infrared LEDs, each reaching up to 50 m, so you can choose colour or black-and-white footage after dark. The camera picks out people, pets and vehicles, and it is added to the same Ajax apps as an Ajax alarm. Choose black or white above.

Ajax NVR (8-ch) and NVR (16-ch) recorders, the Ajax apps, other ONVIF Profile G or S recorders, and Ajax intruder alarms: a scenario in the Ajax app can make chosen cameras start recording when an Ajax detector is triggered, and the clip is sent to the mobile or desktop app. Ajax lists the JunctionBox (118×59) and MountCam A1, A2, B1 and B2 mounts as compatible accessories.

Common questions

Does it record in colour at night?

It can. The white LEDs light the scene up to 50 m for colour footage, and the infrared LEDs reach up to 50 m for black-and-white footage. Ajax quotes a minimum of 0.005 lux in colour.

How do I power it?

From a PoE switch, PoE injector or PoE recorder (802.3af or 802.3at) over the network cable, or from a 12 V DC 1 A supply. A power supply is not included.

Where is the footage stored?

On a microSD card in the camera (card not included) or on an Ajax NVR. It is ONVIF Profile G and S conformant, so it can also be added to other ONVIF recorders.

Can it start recording when the alarm goes off?

Yes, on an Ajax system. You set up a scenario in the Ajax app so that chosen Ajax detectors start recording on this camera, and the clip goes straight to the app.

How wide is the view?

The 2.8 mm lens gives 100-110 degrees across. Ajax also makes a 4 mm version for a narrower, longer view.

Can it go outside?

Yes. It is rated IP66 against dust and water jets and IK08 against impact, and works from -30 °C to +60 °C.
