Ajax NVR (8-ch) Network Video Recorder Black (77611)

Ajax NVR (8-ch) - 8 Channel Network Video Recorder

NVR (8-ch) is the Ajax recorder for up to 8 IP cameras. Footage goes onto a single SATA hard drive of up to 16 TB, and live view, playback and events appear in the same Ajax apps that run the intruder alarm, so cameras and detectors are set up and watched in one place. As well as Ajax cameras, it accepts other makes of IP camera over ONVIF or RTSP. Linked to an Ajax alarm, it can start recording on the cameras you pick the moment a detector goes off, and the footage is passed to the mobile app and to the monitoring company's desktop software. It runs from the mains and fixes to the wall on the SmartBracket panel in the box.

Also listed as 77611 (black). Ajax model ID NVR.8.B.

Technical specification

Works with

Ajax BulletCam, TurretCam, DomeCam Mini and IndoorCam cameras, and other IP cameras that support ONVIF or RTSP. Alarm-linked recording needs an Ajax hub with Ajax detectors. Add a SATA surveillance hard drive of up to 16 TB.

Common questions

Does it come with a hard drive?

No. It has one SATA bay that takes a 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive of up to 16 TB, so add a surveillance drive of the size you need.

Can I use cameras from other brands?

Yes. Alongside Ajax cameras it records IP cameras that follow ONVIF profiles or stream over RTSP. Ajax lists the recorder as conformant with ONVIF Profile G and Profile S.

Can I plug a monitor into it?

Ajax lists no video output on NVR (8-ch), so live view and playback are done in the Ajax apps. If you want a monitor on site, the NVR HAC (8-ch) adds an HDMI output.

How does it work with an Ajax alarm?

You can set up a scenario in which an Ajax detector going off makes chosen cameras start recording. The footage then appears in the mobile app and in the desktop software used by monitoring companies.

What is the difference between the 8 and 16 channel versions?

They share the same case, power supply and storage. NVR (16-ch) is the same size and takes up to 16 cameras.

Where can I fit it?

Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP20, for 0 °C to +40 °C and humidity up to 75%, and it needs a mains socket and a wired network connection.
