Ajax NVR DC (8-ch) - 8 Channel Low-Voltage Network Video Recorder
NVR DC (8-ch) is the low-voltage version of the Ajax 8 channel recorder. Instead of a mains lead it runs from a DC supply of 8 to 16 V, which suits sites that already have a 12 V DC supply. Apart from the power input it does the same job: up to 8 IP cameras, footage on one SATA hard drive of up to 16 TB, and live view, playback and events in the Ajax apps alongside the alarm. Linked to an Ajax alarm, a detector going off can start recording on chosen cameras, with the result sent to the mobile and desktop apps. It fixes to the wall on the SmartBracket panel in the box. Works with
Ajax BulletCam, TurretCam and DomeCam Mini cameras and other IP cameras that support ONVIF or RTSP. Alarm-linked recording needs an Ajax hub with Ajax detectors. You also need a DC supply of 8-16 V able to deliver up to 4 A, and a SATA surveillance hard drive of up to 16 TB.
Common questions
What power supply does it need?
A DC source of 8 to 16 V that can supply up to 4 A. With the jumper fitted on the power board the range becomes 12.3 to 16 V. The recorder uses up to 24 W. No power supply is included, but a terminal adapter is in the box.
How is it different from NVR (8-ch)?
NVR (8-ch) runs from the mains at 110-240 V AC. NVR DC (8-ch) runs from a low-voltage DC supply instead. Channels, storage and size are the same, and the DC version weighs 583 g against 615 g.
Does it come with a hard drive?
No. It has one SATA bay for a 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive of up to 16 TB.
Can I use cameras from other brands?
Yes, over ONVIF (Ajax lists Profile S/T support for cameras and Profile G and S conformance for the recorder) or RTSP.
Where can I fit it?
Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP20, for 0 °C to +40 °C and humidity up to 75%.
