NVR HAC (16-ch) records up to 16 IP cameras and has an HDMI output, so a monitor on site can show the cameras as well as the Ajax apps. Ajax lists recording resolutions up to 8MP. Footage goes onto one SATA drive of up to 16 TB, and the recorder decodes H.265, H.264 and Ajax's JetSparrow format. Motion detection runs on all 16 channels, either in the camera or in the recorder, and Ajax cameras add AI object detection. When it is linked to an Ajax alarm, an event from a detector brings the matching camera to the front of the video wall so the person watching can check it at once. Choose black or white above.

Common questions

Does it come with a hard drive?

No. It has one SATA bay that takes a 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive of up to 16 TB.

What does the HAC version add over NVR (16-ch)?

An HDMI output for a monitor, two USB 2.0 ports and AI object detection with Ajax cameras, none of which appear in the NVR (16-ch) specification. The case is larger, at 212 × 212 × 64 mm against 193 × 193 × 47 mm.

What resolution does the HDMI output run at?

Up to 1920 × 1080. Ajax also lists 1600 × 1200, 1280 × 1024 and 1280 × 720.

Can I use cameras from other brands?

Yes. It records IP cameras that follow ONVIF profiles or stream over RTSP, and Ajax lists it as conformant with ONVIF Profile G and Profile S. AI object detection needs Ajax cameras.

What is the difference between the 8 and 16 channel versions?

They share the same case, power and storage. NVR HAC (8-ch) is the same size and takes up to 8 cameras.

Where can I fit it?

Indoors only. Ajax rates it IP20, for 0 °C to +40 °C and humidity up to 75%, and it needs a mains socket and a wired network connection.
