The Dahua DH-HAC-ME1509HP-T-PV-S2 is the two-way talk version of Dahua's HAC-ME1509H-A-PV-S2, a 5MP TiOC eyeball camera from the Dahua HDCVI Active Deterrence Series. As well as recording, it can flash red and blue warning lights and sound a siren or one of five pre-recorded voice warnings, so it actively challenges intruders instead of just filming them. Smart dual light gives IR or warm light up to 40m for black-and-white or full-colour night video, and video, audio and alarms all travel back to the recorder over a single coax cable.

Who is it for?

Sites that want the camera to actively warn people off, not just record them: driveways, yards, building sites, car parks and the outside of shops and warehouses. It also suits upgrades of existing coax CCTV, because it runs over the same RG59 cable as older analogue cameras.

What you will need

• A Dahua XVR (ideally an AI XVR) with a free HDCVI channel; the warning lights, siren and talk-down are set up from the recorder or the DMSS app
• RG59 coax (or Cat5e/6 with baluns) and a 12V DC supply to each camera
• A multi-way 12V power supply if you are fitting several cameras

Frequently asked questions

Which version should I choose?

The 2.8mm lens gives the widest view (111°) for most homes, drives and entrances. The 3.6mm (89°) sees a little further, with identification out to 7.8m rather than 6.6m. The grey 2.8mm suits darker walls and soffits.

How are the lights and siren triggered?

From the recorder: set them to fire on a motion or smart detection rule, on a schedule, or trigger them manually from the DMSS app.

Will it work with my existing coax system?

Yes. The output switches between CVI, TVI, AHD and CVBS, so it works with most HD analogue recorders. The deterrence and audio features need a compatible Dahua XVR.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes. It is IP67 rated, has a metal housing and works from -40°C to +60°C.
