The AE-VC259T-S faces forward to record the road ahead. It is a colour camera with no infrared, so it relies on headlights and ambient light after dark, and its 96 dB wide dynamic range is there to cope with oncoming headlights and the change in light entering and leaving a tunnel. It carries E-Mark approval, which matters where equipment fitted to a vehicle has to be type-approved.
