Dahua SD59225U-HNI — 2MP 1080p 25x Starlight IR PTZ IP CCTV Camera
The Dahua SD59225U-HNI (Dahua also writes it DH-SD59225U-HNI) is a 2MP 1080p outdoor PTZ IP CCTV security camera with 25x optical zoom, Starlight low-light performance and infrared night vision up to 150m. Dahua lists it as a "2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera" in its Pro Series. One camera can pan, tilt and zoom across a yard, car park or forecourt, follow a moving target automatically and record at up to 50/60 fps at 1080P.
Key features
- 2 megapixel image (1920 × 1080) from a 1/2.8" STARVIS CMOS sensor.
- 25x optical zoom with a 4.8mm to 120mm lens (F1.6 to F4.4) and auto or manual focus.
- Starlight technology: colour images in low light down to 0.005 lux, black and white down to 0.0005 lux, and 0 lux with the IR on.
- Infrared night vision up to 150m, with 120 dB true wide dynamic range.
- Auto-tracking follows a moving target and keeps it in the scene; the tracking can be started manually or by defined rules.
- IVS analytics for tripwire, intrusion and abandoned or missing objects, plus face detection and heat map.
- Smart H.265+ compression: Dahua says it reduces bit rate and storage by up to 70% compared with standard H.265.
- Smooth PTZ: endless 360° pan, tilt from -15° to 90° with auto flip, 300 presets, 5 patterns, 8 tours, auto pan and auto scan.

Common questions
What does Starlight mean?
Starlight is Dahua's low-light technology. On this camera it gives colour images down to 0.005 lux. Read more in our guide to Dahua Starlight low-light cameras.
Is it a 1080p camera?
Yes. It is a 2MP camera with a 1920 × 1080 sensor and records 1080P at up to 50/60 fps.
Can it follow movement automatically?
Yes. Auto-tracking controls the pan, tilt and zoom to follow a moving object and keep it in the scene. It can be triggered manually or by defined rules.
How is it powered?
By PoE+ (802.3at) or AC24V/3A. It uses 13W, or 23W with the IR on. Standard 802.3af PoE is not listed by Dahua.
How far can the infrared see?
The IR distance is up to 150m.
Will it work with a recorder that is not Dahua?
It conforms to ONVIF Profile S and G, so it can be added to compatible third-party recorders.
