Hikvision DS-2CD2166G2H-ISU 6MP AcuSense Vandal Dome Camera with Microphone

The Hikvision DS-2CD2166G2H-ISU is the dome version of our 6MP AcuSense range — same sensor and F1.0 lens as the DS-2CD2066G2H-IU bullet, in an IK10 vandal-rated housing with alarm terminals.

Why choose the dome

• IK10 impact rating — tested to 20 joules, where the bullet has none
• Alarm input and output, plus audio line in and out, from the S in the model number
• Lower profile — Ø121.5 × 97.6 mm against a 179mm bullet, and much harder to knock out of alignment
• Aluminium alloy base and cover

The trade-off is 30 metres of infrared against the bullet's 40, which is the usual consequence of a dome's shorter housing.

Six megapixels across 114.8 degrees

3200 × 1800 on a 1/2.4" sensor, with an F1.0 aperture holding colour down to 0.001 lux.

The 114.8° horizontal view at 2.8mm is wider than most cameras in this class, which typically manage around 100°. In a shop, a reception or a stairwell that often covers a space that would otherwise need two cameras.

What it will actually show you

As with any wide-angle camera, the extra resolution buys coverage rather than distance — identification remains under seven metres.

Worth knowing before you order

The alarm output is 12V at 30mA — a signalling contact, not a relay that will drive a sounder. For switching real loads, the models with a 24V 1A output are what you want.

The lens is fixed — 2.8mm or 4mm, chosen at order.

30m IR, less than the 40m bullet version. Worth weighing against the IK10 rating.

Frequently asked questions

Dome or bullet?

The dome adds IK10 vandal resistance and alarm terminals in a lower-profile housing; the bullet has 40m of infrared against 30m. Same sensor, same F1.0 lens, same view.

What does IK10 mean?

Tested against a 20-joule impact — the highest rating in common use, and worth having anywhere the camera is within reach.

Can the alarm output drive a siren?

Not directly. At 12V and 30mA it is a signalling contact; use a relay module, or choose a camera with a 24V 1A output.

How much PoE does it need?

9.5W on standard 802.3af.
