This is the 4 mm version of Hikvision's 4K G2H dome, and it is the strongest camera in the whole G2H range on two counts: it has the widest dynamic range and the longest identification distance. A 1/1.8" sensor at 3840 × 2160 behind an F1.0 lens, in an IP67 / IK10 aluminium alloy housing.
AcuSense deep-learning classification separates people and vehicles from foliage, rain, shadows and animals, so line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting trigger only on real targets. Face capture is supported.
Every other G2H camera is rated at 120 dB. This one is 130 dB. That extra stop of dynamic range is aimed squarely at the hardest scene in most buildings: a doorway or shutter shot from inside, where the interior is dim and the daylight behind the subject is ten thousand times brighter. It is the difference between a silhouette and a face.
At 4 mm the DORI figures are detect 109 m, observe 43 m, recognise 21 m, identify 10 m — against 8 m at 2.8 mm, and 6 to 7 m on the 4 MP models in the same family. On a forecourt or car park where the camera cannot sit directly over the action, that is the difference between footage showing that an incident happened and footage that identifies who was there.
The trade-off is standoff: minimum focus is 3.8 m at this lens. Mounted directly above a doorway at head height the image will be soft. This camera wants room — which suits its longer reach anyway.
Be realistic about night, too. The infrared reaches 30 m against a 109 m detection range, so after dark the illuminator is the limit, not the optics.
The alarm output is rated maximum 12 VDC, 30 mA — far below the 24 VDC / 1 A outputs on the bullets and PTRZ domes in this family. Thirty milliamps drives a logic input or a small relay coil. It will not drive a sounder, a strike or a lamp directly. If the camera needs to switch a real load, put an interposing relay between the two.
About 10 m at this 4 mm lens, or 8 m at 2.8 mm — the longest in the G2H family, and roughly half again the 4 MP and 6 MP models.
Roughly an extra stop of range between the brightest and darkest parts of a frame. It matters most shooting into daylight from inside a building.
3.8 m at 4 mm. Give it room — it is not a doorway camera.
Not directly. It is a 12 VDC, 30 mA signalling contact, so it needs a relay module.
