This is the 4 mm version of Hikvision's G2H 4 MP fixed bullet: AcuSense human and vehicle classification, DarkFighter low-light performance, 60 m infrared and a full metal IP67 housing. No strobe, no speaker, no audio — a straightforward recording camera that filters out the false alarms.
AcuSense deep-learning classification separates people and vehicles from foliage, rain, shadows and animals, so line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting trigger only on the target types you care about. Face capture is supported.
The camera is otherwise identical; the lens changes what it is good for. At 4 mm the field of view is 81.1° horizontal and the DORI figures are detect 78 m, observe 31 m, recognise 15 m, identify 7 m. At 2.8 mm the view opens to 100.2° but the figures fall back to 63 m detect and 6 m identify.
In practice: choose 4 mm when the camera is looking down a length — a driveway, an alley, a car park aisle, a corridor — and you want usable detail further out. Choose 2.8 mm when the camera is covering breadth close in, such as a yard corner or a shop floor. The 4 mm version also holds focus from 2.5 m rather than 1.9 m, so it is the weaker choice for anything mounted close to its subject.
At 4 mm the 60 m infrared comfortably covers the 78 m detection range for most practical purposes, so night performance stays well matched to the optics.
This camera draws a maximum of 9 W over IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE. That is a real advantage over the deterrence models in the same family — the IS2U/SL versions need 802.3at for their strobes and speakers. On an af-only switch, or a recorder with a tight power budget across every port, this camera fits where those do not.
The 2I has no built-in microphone, no speaker, and no audio or alarm terminal block. Ethernet port, microSD slot and reset key are its only physical interfaces. If you need two-way audio, an on-camera siren, or to wire in a detector or sounder, look at the ISU, IS2U or IS2U/SL models.
Not better, different. It sees further with more detail over a narrower field. For close, wide coverage the 2.8 mm is the right choice.
No. The 2I has no audio hardware at all.
Yes — 802.3af Class 3 at a maximum of 9 W.
It supports ONVIF Profile S, T and G, so it will record on most ONVIF recorders. AcuSense classification is best supported on Hikvision recorders.
