The DS-2CD2T86G2H-4I is the long-range version of Hikvision's 8 MP G2H bullet: the same 1/1.8" 4K sensor and AcuSense analytics as the 2I, fitted with a bigger infrared array reaching 80 m instead of 60 m, and a 4 mm lens rather than 2.8 mm. It is the camera in this family aimed at driveways, yard perimeters, car parks and approach roads rather than at doorways.
AcuSense deep-learning classification separates people and vehicles from foliage, rain, shadows and animals, so line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting trigger only on real targets. Face capture is supported.
These two changes are not independent, and that is the point of this variant. The 4 mm lens narrows the view to 90° horizontal but pushes the DORI figures out to detect 109 m, observe 43 m, recognise 21 m, identify 10 m — against 89 m and 8 m on the 2.8 mm version. The 80 m illuminator then covers most of that extended detection range after dark.
Compare that with the 2.8 mm 2I, where the optics detect to 89 m but the IR only reaches 60 m. On this model the lens and the illuminator are far better matched, which is why it is worth the extra outlay for any genuinely long view. If the scene is close and wide, the 2.8 mm 2I remains the sensible choice and the wider field of view will serve you better.
Despite the larger IR array, this camera runs on 802.3af Class 3 at max. 12.5 W. It does not need the 802.3at ports that the strobe-and-siren IS2U/SL models demand, so it drops into existing af infrastructure without a switch upgrade.
Like the rest of the 2I/4I family, this camera has no microphone, no speaker and no audio or alarm terminal block. Ethernet port, microSD slot and reset key are the only physical interfaces. For two-way audio, an on-camera siren or wiring in detectors, look at the ISU, IS2U or IS2U/SL models instead.
Same sensor and same analytics. This one has 80 m IR instead of 60 m, and this SKU carries the 4 mm lens rather than 2.8 mm, so it sees further over a narrower field.
No — the 4I has no audio hardware at all.
Yes, 802.3af Class 3 at max. 12.5 W.
It supports ONVIF Profile S, T and G, so it will record on most ONVIF recorders. AcuSense classification is best supported on Hikvision recorders.
